STUDENT PROFILE

June 2008

Jon Woods, 22
9th Kyu

Why did you begin martial arts training?

It is really hard to keep motivated without a serious partner to work out with, and after a while the gym was becoming a drag. That was when I decided to change it up and try out CNC.

Did you have any previous martial arts training before joining
CNC?

I did martial arts on and off as a kid and then in high school got into wrestling.

What do you like the most about Ninjutsu?

All the techniques waste no movement and are very practical which is nice. The best thing though is it encompasses more than just fighting. Acting, stealth techniques, and meditation are all things I have grown to enjoy a lot.

What has been the greatest benefit from your training?

A rededication to my body and stress relief. Training is a great way to brush off a tough day and forget about it.

What has been your biggest challenge?

When I'm exhausted it is very easy to get sloppy. Keeping it slow and keeping the form of techniques can be very hard sometimes.

What advice would you give to a new student?

All the people here are great and are willing to help. If you push yourself and have fun you will maximize your training.
