Now that you are preparing to test for your black belt, how has your view of Ninjutsu changed?
I am always gaining respect for how much there is to learn and how it applies to my daily life. If people knew what I did they would train in ninjutsu. Over time I have come to realize that it is not just a method of self-protection and preservation but an art that brings out the best in the individual body, mind, and spirit.
What has been the greatest benefit from your training?
My overall health has benefited greatly from my training. Over the last few years I have been through some personal challenges and my training has always been a positive constant. My instructors and my friends that I train with are always a highlight of my week. I feel much more confident about every aspect of my life moving forward and enjoying my higher level of overall health. I would say the greatest benefits are the health improvements in my life and the new friends I have made while training.
What has been your biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge in my training has been keeping up with my younger classmates!
What advice would you give to a new student?
If a new student is looking for a martial art that is more than breaking boards and putting on a show, this is the place. I find everything we do is applicable in real life and is geared towards identifying and winning confrontations of all types. It is always fun and always tough but never boring. I would say if that sounds good to a new student then join us right away! You will never be disappointed.
